As a Technical Marketing Engineer supporting NetApp’s Microsoft Alliance Engineering team, you will work cross-functionally to create solution-based technical content for Customers, System Engineers and Channel Partners. The engineer will work closely with Product Management and Engineering on the company\'s future strategies related to their specific area of expertise. In addition you also work closely with third-party software vendors to achieve corporate goals in regards to product integration and best practices.



Essential Functions:

- Develop technical collateral for best practices guides, design guides, integration guides etc. Time includes lab work, technical writing, and revision work.



- Advanced Training - development of technical training for the relevant area of expertise. Training audiences may include NetAppU course developers and field experts.



- Content Maintenance - updates, revisions, removal of content in the engineer\'s area of expertise. Materials subject to maintenance include: Technical Reports, PPTs, Training Content, FAQs, etc.



- Education and self development - continue to develop subject matter expertise through external and internal training, continuing education, etc.



- Work with NetApp Sales to provide subject matter expertise / demo’s on relevant areas as and when required.



-Lab management functions as required to maintain the engineer\'s lab equipment setup and tear down.



Job Requirements:



- Strong working knowledge of Windows technologies and operating systems, primarily Sharepoint . Working experience on other Microsoft products such as MSSQL, Hyper-V , Exchange is desirable as the engineer would be expected to work on these areas if there is a business need.

- Strong verbal and written communications skills; including presentation skills.



- Ability to deliver training materials and/or other group communications in a clear and professional manner.



- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.



- Ability to plan, outline and deliver professional technical documents on time.

















Responsibility and Interaction:



Responsibility:



- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.

- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.



Interaction:



- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.

- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on Sharepoint while at the same time flexible enough to ramp-up quickly on other Microsoft products such as Hyper-V if there is a need.

- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through influencing others.



Education and Experience



- A Bachelor of Science Degree is required along with 4 – 7 years of relevant industry experience. The position is for the TME3 band.

- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.

- Knowledge of NetApp solutions is preferred.
